I went out to Powell Butte late this morning. Thought, yet again, about Colorado painter Joellyn Duesberry. A boy and his father stopped to talk. The father had studied watercolor 20 years ago, which may not sound intimidating, unless it's being translated by the son from the father's Ukranian or Russian. I'm pretty casual about watercolor technique, and there's nothing casual about Russian art schools. He was, however, very polite in his comments.
